Artificial turf installation on the Florida panhandle

The short answer

ForeverLawn Emerald Coast installs artificial turf from Pensacola to Tallahassee and into lower Alabama. More than 20 turf options cover lawns, dog runs, playgrounds, putting greens and sports surfaces. Premium products carry a 15 year warranty, the installation carries a 24 month warranty, and the first consultation costs nothing.

What is artificial turf installation?

Artificial turf installation is the work of replacing a lawn or a play surface with synthetic grass that stays green without water. The turf itself is only part of it. What sits underneath decides whether the finished surface drains, stays flat and lasts, which is why the job is graded and based before any grass is unrolled.

On the panhandle the usual reasons are shade, sand, salt air, dogs and the water bill. Grass struggles in all five.

How does the installation actually work?

Three stages, in this order.

A free consultation on site. Someone comes out, looks at the space, measures it, asks how the area gets used and what the budget is, then puts an accurate written quote together from what is actually there.

A proposal you read before anything starts. It sets out the product, the scope of work and the terms. Signing it takes a down payment, which can go through ACH, card or check.

The install. The site is prepared and graded, base material goes down, then the turf is laid, cut, seamed and secured to perimeter boards.

Which artificial grass should I choose?

It depends on what the space has to survive. ForeverLawn Emerald Coast carries more than 20 options, grouped into product lines built for different jobs.

Product lineBuilt for
ForeverLawn LandscapeOrdinary front and back lawns
K9GrassDogs, at home and in kennels, clinics and dog parks
Playground GrassPlay areas, with Playmounds as prefabricated foam contours
GolfGreensBackyard putting greens and short game areas
SportsGrassSports surfaces that take heavy repeated use
BocceGrassBocce and pickleball, where the surface needs low bounce

More than one can go in a single yard. A putting green beside a dog run is a common request, and the two need different grass.

How long does artificial turf installation take?

Anywhere from a day to 12 weeks. The company’s own answer to this puts the range that wide on purpose, because the turf chosen, the size of the area and the state of the site all move it.

A small back yard with easy access is a short job. A commercial ground with drainage work and a turf on order is not.

What warranty comes with artificial grass?

Premium ForeverLawn products carry a 15 year warranty, and the installation work carries a separate 24 month warranty. Two different things are covered there: one is the grass, the other is the workmanship holding it down.

K9Grass nylon blades, where they are specified, are warranted against damage from reflective light.

What actually decides whether a turf lawn lasts?

Not the grass. Base preparation, drainage and edge detail decide it, and all three are hidden the day the job finishes.

Turf laid on poorly graded ground holds water, moves underfoot and pulls at the seams. Turf laid on a proper base sits flat and drains, and the difference only shows up a year or two later, which is precisely why it is worth asking about before the work starts rather than after.

How do you maintain artificial grass?

A hose and a leaf blower cover most of it. No mowing, no edging, no weeding, no watering, and no fertilizer or pest control to buy.

For anything heavier, ForeverLawn Emerald Coast offers refresh visits on a semiannual, quarterly or one time basis.

Is artificial grass good for dogs?

Yes, and there is a turf built specifically for them. K9Grass uses a knitted flow through backing that drains edge to edge, needs no infill, and carries Alphasan antimicrobial in the blades to hold down odor causing bacteria.

The pet turf page covers how it differs from ordinary artificial grass and how it gets cleaned.

Can you build a backyard putting green?

Yes. GolfGreens is the product line for it, and a green is designed around the space rather than dropped into it, which is what decides whether the ball rolls true.

Greens go in alongside other surfaces regularly. A putting green on one side of a yard and K9Grass on the other is a single project with two different grasses in it.

What does artificial turf installation cost?

Square footage, the turf chosen, how much site preparation the ground needs and how easily a crew can reach the space. Those four move the number more than anything else, and none of them can be judged from a phone call.

Financing is available, and a written quote follows the free on site consultation. The cost page goes through what sits behind the figure.

Where does ForeverLawn Emerald Coast install turf?

The whole Emerald Coast, from Pensacola through to Tallahassee, plus lower Alabama. Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Navarre, Niceville, Mary Esther and the rest of Okaloosa County are all inside that.

The service area page lists the towns, the address and the hours.

How does ForeverLawn compare with other turf companies here?

Most of the competition on this coast sells turf as one service inside a landscaping business. ForeverLawn Emerald Coast is a dealer for one manufacturer and installs its product lines only, which narrows the catalogue and deepens the knowledge of it.

The comparison page sets it against Le-Scape, using what each company publishes about itself.

Questions we get asked

Is synthetic turf worth it in a shady yard?

Shade is one of the more common reasons people switch. Synthetic turf does not need light to stay green, so a yard under a magnolia or an oak looks the same as one in full sun.

Can I put artificial grass around a pool?

Yes. Turf takes pool traffic without the mud and clippings that natural grass carries back into the water, and it does not need watering next to a surface that already gets wet.

Is the grass made in the USA?

ForeverLawn products are made in the USA from recycled materials, by the company’s own description of them.

Can more than one type of turf go in one project?

Yes. Multiple product lines regularly go into one property, which is how a dog run, a putting green and a lawn end up in the same back yard with the right grass in each.

Want a real number for your own yard?

The consultation is free. Someone comes out, measures the space, talks through which turf suits how you use it, and the written quote follows from that.
